Three minute elevator speech

On the Third Sunday of Easter the congregation was asked to respond to the following,

"If someone asked you this week, "Why do you go to church?" what would you say?

And

If someone asked you this week, "Why do you believe in Jesus Christ?" what would you say?

Pray, reflect and then write your answer.  We are encouraged to share our response with one another through this blog page, our parishes facebook page, email or written notes.

  1. I believe because my faith tells me so...Jesus Christ lived and walked this earth; became one of us, and is never far away..the only time we feel, perhaps, Jesus Christ if far away, is when we have lost our center and have forgotten the promise of our faith

  2. Why do you go to church?" I go to church for several reasons, as follows: 1.) To fulfill an obligation; 2.) To keep the Sabath Holy; 3.) To hear the Word of the Lord; 4.)To move toward a closer relationship with God; 5.) To fulfill my promise to raise the children in the church; 6.) To give thanks to the Lord for the Blessings I have received.

"Why do you believe in Jesus Christ? I believe in J.C. because: 1.) Of the scriptures; 2.)The miracles that he performed and continues to perform; 2.) The transformation of the world since his coming.
